Greetings VEX Robotics Competition Teams,

Here's an update on the Online Design Challenges, the 2010 VEX World Championship (including College Challenge teams) and some recent events:

One more day to submit Online Design Challenge entries

Tomorrow night (March 5) is the deadline to submit entries for any of the 6 different 2010 Online Design Challenges. We know a number of teams are working feverishly to get their entries done in time - so keep up the great effort, we look forward to seeing your work. All RobotEvents.com members can view and even help judge the online submissions at RobotEvents.com (just click on the tile box for the online design challenge page).

VEX World Championship Registration and Waitlist Update

The 2010 VEX World Championship is filling up fast and this week is the payment deadline for already qualified and registered World Championship teams. We will know next week if some registered teams will be unable to attend and will begin to move teams off the waitlist on Thursday and Friday, March 11 and 12, if any spots open up. If your team has qualified in the past few weeks and plans to attend the 2010 World Championship, be sure to register in the next week to ensure your spot.

VEX World Championship Agenda and Hotel Update

An updated Schedule and Agenda is now posted on the RobotEvents.com VRC World Championship Event Page. As teams qualify and register, be sure to book your hotel rooms to get the discounted room rates before they fill up (a few hotels are already completely full, but we still have special discounted room rates available at 2 other hotels). The agenda and links to hotels offering special World Championship discounts for VEX teams can be found on the event page at RobotEvents.com/2010-vrc-world-championship

College Challenge Beta Test Update

The new VEX Cortex Microcontrollers and VEXnet Joysticks are now shipping to the 2010 VEX College Challenge World Championship Beta Test teams. There are still a few spots available for any college teams wanting to participate (free equipment) if they are registered and paid in the next two weeks. Interested teams can find all the details about the beta test opportunity at RobotEvents.com on the College Challenge Program Page and the World Championship page on the following two links:

Team Growth and Recent Events

It's been an incredible couple of weeks for the VEX Robotics Competition. More than 200 teams competed in 9 different events last weekend, and 300 teams will be competing in 11 different events this upcoming weekend. Congratulations to all who qualified for the VEX World Championship and the Championship of the Americas last week and best of luck to everyone playing this week. The Hawaii event this last weekend was rescheduled for March 19 & 20 due to the last minute tsunami warning - we're very happy and grateful that all our friends in Hawaii are safe and sound.

Best wishes and good luck to everyone competing this weekend,

VEX Robotics Competition
