Greetings Teams,

Here's a shorter update after another great week of competitions. Things will slow down for the holidays for a couple weeks, but the big news this week is that the Online Design Challenges have been announced.

Online Challenges Are Now Posted!

The details for 2010 Online Design Challenges have now been posted on RobotEvents.com. The variety of design challenges available for students to participate in is bigger this year, with six different challenges: Autodesk® Inventor® Digital Prototyping Challenge, FUTURE Foundation Product Design Challenge, Design a Game Animation Challenge, Promotional Video Challenge, Web Site Design Challenge and VEX Essay contest. The site will open for submissions in late January, but all the details are up now so the designing can begin! All the specific details and information can be found athttp://forum.robotevents.com/design.

Great Week of Competition

Congratulations to the over 300 teams who competed this past weekend. We've heard that all of the tournaments last weekend in Canada (Ontario and British Colombia), Puerto Rico, Great Britain and the US (Texas, Maryland, Nevada, Northern California and Southern California) went great, with many events going so smoothly that they even finished ahead of schedule. Thanks to all the event partners who continue to provide such amazing tournaments - making this season successful and a great experience for all the teams.

2010 VEX World Championship and Hotel Information

Even more teams have now qualified and registered for the 2010 World Championship, and many more teams will qualify in the coming weeks and months. The 2010 VRC World Championship Schedule and Agenda should be posted on the event page in about two weeks. As teams qualify, be sure to register and to book your hotel rooms to ensure you get your spot and get the discounted hotel rates before they fill up. The three hotels offering special World Championship discounts for VEX teams can be found on the event page on RobotEvents.com.

We can't wait to see all the teams at the numerous events still to come in January, February and March leading up to the 2010 VEX World Championship April 22-24 in Dallas. We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and an incredible New Year.

Happy Holidays,

VEX Robotics Competition
